Well I have to say, with the 3rd generation iPad in hand, I can already see the difference. I've only just turned it on and the resolution really is a BIG step forward from iPad 2. I still have to give this beauty a good run to comment on performance but so far - impressed.

I have officially held an iPad 3! Physical differences are minor, display magical and apparently battery is phenomenal! Mine will be here soon and I will update with news once I've had a good play...

Well it's the 7th, later today Apple will be hosting their media event where the iPad 3 will be revealed. Interestingly enough Apple has also yesterday, ahead of the event, added a new category to the App Store - Catalog. Apple does do these things lightly so we can expect that this must play a role in the announcement today...

It's official - The new Mac OS is on its way this "summer" our winter - June... Some new exciting features on the way, go check it out at Apple.com. For all iOS users you'll be stoked to hear that there is a public beta of Messages (thinks iMessage on your iOS device) so you can start messaging all you like minded mates - from your Mac to there device or Mac. Cool!

March 7th and iPad 3

Well it's been made official that March 7th will see an iPad event by Apple taking place - we are all in anticipation to see what first major launch of an Apple product will be without Jobs around. What does appear pretty unanimous amongst the rumours and claims about the upcoming device is that we can expect a similar form factor, retina quality display (as the iPhone 4 & 4s) and possibly a quad core processor. iPad's magnetic character seems to also be a safe bet with numerous reports of smart cover functionality for the new device. Roll on March 7!

My impressions of the new iPhone so far...

Definitely faster, which I think should be par for the course since it has a much faster processor. Siri is a lot of fun, not always on the money but amazingly 'intuitive'.

Camera app loads way faster and shooting HDR images is much quicker, very pleased! 8 megapixel camera is a huge improvement, both in image quality results and light sensitivity.
